Zac Efron, who first stole our hearts in High School Musical, is rumoured to be in discussions with Marvel Studios for a role. This news has fans buzzing with excitement and speculation.

From High School Musical to Marvel Universe

Efron has come a long way from his days as Troy Bolton. He has successfully shed his “frat boy” image from movies like Neighbors and Dirty Grandpa, showcasing his serious acting chops in films like Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil And Vile and The Iron Claw. Now, it seems he might be ready to take on the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).

Efron has expressed his love for the Marvel universe on multiple occasions. During a 2022 appearance on The Tonight Show, he addressed rumours about him potentially taking over the role of Wolverine from Hugh Jackman. “Really? Wow, they could just call me,” he said, adding, “I think Hugh’s still doing that pretty well. I got to give it to him.”

When host Jimmy Fallon suggested that Efron could ask for Jackman’s blessing, Efron responded, “Yeah, I guess I had my foot in the door on that one. I should go talk to him.”

Efron has been a Marvel fan since childhood. “I love the Marvel universe. I’ve been a fan of Marvel since I started walking,” he shared. “If the right character comes along, and they want me to jump in, I would jump at the opportunity.”
