Queer Comedy Titans Take Over Sydney Comedy Fest!

Sydney’s annual comedy event is set to kick off this April 22 until May 19, and the lineup of queer comedians this year is impressive including Lady Bunny, Joel Creasey, Rhys Nicholson and Reuben Kaye.

From the finest Australian acts to the biggest international stars and the most promising emerging talent, the festival lineup is packed with talent that is sure to leave audiences in stitches. As comedy connoisseurs, we suggest checking out these big stars if you plan to visit!

Lady Bunny

Lady Bunny is an iconic American drag queen, DJ, and promoter known for her larger-than-life persona and contributions to the drag and LGBTQIA+ community. With her quick wit, raunchy humour, and over-the-top performances, she’s going to burn up the stage at Sydney Comedy Fest.

Lady Bunny will be performing Saturday, May 04 at 8:20pm and Sunday, May 12 at 6:00pm.

Joel Creasey

Joel’s brand of comedy has helped establish him as a television presenter and actor known for his sharp wit, outrageous quips and flamboyant personality, earning him the “Clown Prince” of comedy title. Originally from Perth, Creasey rose to prominence in the Australian comedy scene in his early twenties, quickly becoming known for his confident stage presence and fearless comedy style. A big part of Creasey’s act involves commentary about the LGBTQIA+ experience which involves plenty of anecdotal laughs and innuendos to make you blush.

Reuben Kaye

Reuben Kaye is a flamboyant and dynamic comedian, singer, and cabaret performer known for their extravagant and captivating stage presence. Their shows often feature sharp wit, biting humour, and tons of glamour, drawing audiences into a world of extravagant entertainment.

Rhys Nicholson

With their quick delivery, colourful language, and unapologetic approach to addressing taboo topics, Nicholson’s show is not one to miss.
