From “I Do” to Diapers: Don Lemon’s Share Baby Plans Post-Wedding
CNN anchor Don Lemon and his husband Tim Malone recently revealed their plans for expanding their family in an exclusive interview with E! News. The couple, who tied the knot on April 6 in New York City, are basking in the glow of being newlyweds but are also looking ahead to the future.
When asked about their plans for having children, Don told E! News at the 2024 TIME100 Gala, “We are family planning, I can’t tell you when. We already have three fur babies and I’ve only been married for three weeks.
“But yes, we are planning something and we’ll let you know when.” The 58-year-old jokingly added, “He’s going to have to do it, though, because his body will bounce back.”
Don and Tim, who became engaged in 2019, exchanged vows at the Fifth Avenue Presbyterian Church in Manhattan. The couple sported matching tuxes with velvet jackets in dark green and navy, respectively. Their three dogs — Barkley, Boomer, and Gus — were also present for the big day, as seen in photos of the couple holding the pups while making their way down the church steps.
The wedding ceremony was attended by 140 friends and family members, with United States ambassador to the United Nations Linda Thomas-Greenfield officiating. The couple wanted a traditional ceremony in a church to make a public statement and involve their loved ones. Tim explained, “For a lot of them it’s going to be their first gay wedding.”
For Don, the ceremony was a dream come true, as he never thought he would get married. “I mean, maybe Tim’s generation, he’s 18 years younger than me. So for him maybe it was more of a possibility,” he said. Don emphasized the importance of the legal aspect of their marriage, considering the rights that people are trying to take away from the LGBTQIA+ community.
