From Studio Set To Prison – Former Sean Cody Model Sentenced For Murder Of Partner
Former gay porn actor Jordan Joplin has been sentenced to 99 years for the murder of his partner Dr Eric Garcia. Joplin was known by many aliases in the industry including Zack on Sean Cody, Logan Cruise on Men. com and Bromo, and Rob Stonebridge on Randy Blue.
Joplin was found guilty on one count of first-degree murder and one count of first-degree theft. The court handed down the maximum sentence for murder in Alaska.
Sex, violence and greed
Joplin’s sentencing took place on April 9, 2024. The charges stem from the 2017 murder of Dr Garcia, whom Joplin had been romantically involved with for six years.
During Judge Michael Wolverton’s comments, he condemned Joplin’s actions as being calculated by nature. He described Joplin’s conduct as, “intentional and careful planning,” denouncing it as “brazen and craven”.
The autopsy report revealed that Dr Garcia died from a lethal combination of morphine, methadone, lorazepam, and diazepam. Following Dr Garcia’s death, Joplin stole valuable items from his residence, including coins, watches, jewellery and liquor; a combined value exceeding USD320,000.
Further investigation uncovered that Joplin orchestrated the transfer of three shipping containers from Dr Garcia’s home to his own residence in Washington. Additionally, Garcia’s phone and wallet were found in Joplin’s possession. Detectives also uncovered substantial transfers Joplin made from Garcia’s bank accounts, totalling over USD30,000.
A disturbing video recorded on March 17, 2017, showed Dr Garcia unconscious and struggling to breathe. Subsequently, Joplin used Garcia’s truck to drive to the airport and flee to his residence in Washington.
The severity of Joplin’s crimes led to the maximum sentence under Alaskan law. His sentencing adds another to the list of growing former gay porn stars with criminal records.
