Love Yourself – Revisiting Pose As Season Three Brings Iconic Show To A Close
As groundbreaking TV series Pose comes to an end with season 3, we revisit the cast’s Pose-A-Thon version of Love Yourself.
Although the show has come to an end, this video reminds us of the hope and inspiration that Pose brought to our community. In the words of Billy Porter, “If you feel alone, just listen to this song, love yourself you can’t go wrong”.
Pose was groundbreaking from the start with its largely gay and trans cast, recreating the New York ball scene of the ’80s and ’90s. Season 3 is no different, as our beloved characters face the challenge of the HIV/AIDS epidemic and all the issues of discrimination, social injustice that came with it.
The show’s heart has always been about acceptance and finding respect. Love Yourself reminds us is that there was a lot of fun and light and joy that it also brought. The Pose message is be yourself and to be unapologetic about it.
