Culture Club return to Australia for a national Greatest Hits tour in September with special guests Berlin. The tour kicks off at Perth’s RAC Arena on September 5th followed by Qudos Bank Arena in Sydney, Rod Laver Arena in Melbourne, Adelaide Entertainment Centre and winding up at Brisbane Entertainment Centre on September 14th.

Telstra Presale will begin at 10 am (local time) on Monday, April 17th, and the general public on-sale will start at 10 am (local time) on Friday, April 21st.

Culture Club’s Legacy

Culture Club came to prominence in 1982 with their debut album Kissing To Be Clever and its lead single Do You Really Want To Hurt Me, a reggae-inspired ballad about the turbulent romance between lead singer Boy George and drummer Jon Moss. Their second album, Colour By Numbers yielded five huge hit singles: Church Of The Poison Mind, Karma Chameleon, Victims, Miss Me Blind and It’s a Miracle. The album has sold over 10 million copies worldwide and currently sits at number 96 on Rolling Stone‘s 100 Best Albums Of The ’80s.

Fast forward to the 2020s and Culture Club has sold over 50 million albums worldwide and are still wowing audiences with their eclectic, multicultural, New Wave pop sound as well as pulling at the nostalgic heartstrings for their legion of loyal fans.

The band’s importance musically is matched by its cultural impact: the visibility of same-sex attracted men in popular music, George’s androgynous looks, and the dynamic blending of a variety of different musical styles and influences into the pop genre.

Boy George has also enjoyed a successful career as a solo artist and DJ and endeared himself to new Australian audiences as their favourite coach on TV’s The Voice in 2017.
