Good News! “Overcompensating” Is Back For Season 2… Benito Skinner Celebrated By Getting Naked
Benito Skinner has finished filming season two of his Prime Video comedy Overcompensating, and he marked the moment the only way he really could, by getting his kit off on Instagram. The return is confirmed, season two is in the can, and the man is clearly feeling himself.
On 21 July 2026, Skinner shared a carousel of mirror selfies to celebrate the wrap. One shot caught him in an open robe with a strategically placed star sticker doing the bare minimum to keep Instagram’s moderators calm. Alongside it, he promised to “ALWAYS be a whore on TV.” Classic Benito. He built a hit on saying the quiet part loud, so nobody clutched their pearls.
Yes, The Show Is Officially Coming Back
If you missed the news, the return is locked in. Prime Video renewed Overcompensating for a second season on 10 September 2025 (The Hollywood Reporter). “I feel so damn lucky to go back to Yates University,” Skinner said at the time, thanking studio partners Amazon MGM Studios and A24. Season one pulled cameos from Megan Fox, Charli XCX and Bowen Yang, so the show has friends in high places. Filming started in late April 2026 and, going by that wrap post, is now done.
Season one ended on a gut-punch. Benny, Skinner’s semi-autobiographical lead, was accidentally outed at a post-finals party when Carmen let it slip in front of Miles. Grace and Miles both looked like they heard every word. Season two has that fallout to sort out, and fans have waited more than a year to see how Benny plays it.

When Can We Actually Watch It?
Prime Video has not set a premiere date yet. Based on the season one timeline, a late-2026 release looks likely, though nothing is official. Until then, we have got a robe, a star sticker and a promise to keep things messy.
