“Wicked 2” Trailer Lands With Jonathan Bailey’s New Fiyero Uniform
Universal has dropped the first full trailer for Wicked: For Good, the second and final chapter of Jon M. Chu’s blockbuster adaptation. It teases Glinda in a white wedding dress, Fiyero leading the hunt, Elphaba on the run, and a messier triangle than a college share house. The film opens in cinemas on 21 November 2025. The trailer arrived on 4 June and, yes, you can hear fresh music in the cut.
Jonathan Bailey’s new Fiyero uniform gets its close-up.
The new footage and promo stills give a clean look at Fiyero’s military dress: structured shoulders, dense gold braid, and ceremonial detailing fit for Oz’s Captain Of The Guard and a would-be groom. Entertainment Weekly’s breakdown confirms he now fronts the Wizard’s guard while that wedding tease hangs in the air.
Cynthia Erivo (Elphaba), Ariana Grande (Glinda), Jonathan Bailey (Fiyero), Michelle Yeoh, Jeff Goldblum, Ethan Slater and more return. The story picks up after Part One’s broomstick exit and heads into Act Two territory from the stage musical. Expect the second film to include two new Stephen Schwartz numbers alongside staples like For Good. A September teaser even shows Fiyero calling Glinda out, so the romance and politics are both running hot.
Director Jon M. Chu has kept the tone clear: “If Part 1 is about choices, Part 2 is about consequences.” The trailer backs that up with mobs, flying simians, and a glimpse of Dorothy and friends on the road. It is bigger, darker, and still built on that central friendship.
Jonathan Bailey says he will be taking a break from acting to focus on his charity, The Shameless Fund.

Costume context that matters.
The new look lands after costume designer Paul Tazewell’s historic run with Wicked. Earlier this year he became the first Black man to win the Academy Award for Best Costume Design, and those credentials show in the precision of Fiyero’s tailoring and Glinda’s ceremonial styling. “I’m the first Black man to receive the costume design award,” he said on the night.
Want a rewatch before November? The first film is currently streaming on Peacock, and Universal has confirmed the sequel will debut exclusively in cinemas before later arriving on video-on-demand home rental for streaming.
So what are we looking at in the trailer, exactly?
Glinda’s aisle-ready moment is new for the screen, hinting at a set-piece that never happens on stage. Fiyero’s uniform signals his shift into power, while the cut also teases fresh vocals.
