Troye Sivan Has Us Feeling The “Rush” With Celebratory And Sexy Music Vid

On Friday, July 14, Troye Sivan released the music video to his new single Rush. The video already has 3 million views and is being talked about everywhere.

The high-energy music video features hot young dancers and is an homage to queer club culture and, of course, poppers.

It’s like Eastern Europe without homophobia

Troye Sivan’s music has become synonymous with LGBTQIA+ culture and his Rush video is the epitome of sweaty summer raves and queermasc sexuality. The choreography by Sergio Reis has already begun circulating on TikTok with users obsessed with its simple-to-follow movements and group coordination.

Indulgent scenes of grinding flesh and sweaty torsos punctuate the Rush video and for an homage to the clubbing twink, it couldn’t be more perfect. We wouldn’t be doing justice to the story if we didn’t mention the social media reactions. Many were blown away by the sheer energy and vibe of the video commenting that it feels very much like the head-rush one would get when on poppers.

The chatter online about the music video has some commenting that the video wasn’t diverse enough, but any earnest critique has been swamped amid the love of the choreography and the jokes about the twink-ish nature of the models.

Sivan has since tweeted the announcement of his upcoming album Something To Give Each Other which will be out October 13. If it’s anything like this song, we will be feeling the Rush all year long.
