Jonathan Bennett gained global fame for his role as Aaron Samuels in the cult classic 2004 movie Mean Girls. Bennett recently hinted at his potential involvement in the highly anticipated Mean Girls: The Musical movie adaptation when he spoke to People.

The musical, which premiered on Broadway to critical acclaim, is now set to make its way to the big screen and although nothing has been confirmed, Bennett’s interview hints we may be able to expect to see him return to the catty world of North Shore High.

He CAN Sit With Us

In an interview with People, Bennett dropped tantalising hints about his connection to the upcoming movie project. When asked about his participation, he coyly said, “There’s some talks going on about certain things… Let’s just say that.” His words have sparked excitement among fans, who are eagerly awaiting any news regarding the potential return of any of the beloved cast members.

Mean Girls: The Musical movie is a tad bit like media inception; it’s a musical movie based on the plot and songs of a Broadway musical that was based on an original movie. Suffice to say, the Mean Girls franchise is an industry in and of itself.

This latest iteration is expected to capture the essence of the Broadway production, which beautifully translated the witty humour and timeless messages of the original film into a spectacular stage show. The stage adaptation featured music by Jeff Richmond, lyrics by Nell Benjamin, and a book by Tina Fey, who also wrote the screenplay for the original Mean Girls movie.

Bennett expressed his enthusiasm for the franchise and the impact it has had on audiences. “It is so fun to be a part of a movie like Mean Girls, where so many people have such a good reaction and such a heartwarming feeling when they think about our movie because it changed their lives in so many ways. It changed my life,” he shared during the interview.

One thing remains certain: the Mean Girls phenomenon is far from over, and its upcoming musical adaptation promises to be an extraordinary celebration of the beloved story that has left an indelible mark on pop culture.
