Texans Can No Longer Access PHub Thanks To Republicans
Texas House Bill 1181 has passed and requires a vigorous age verification standard for all adult sites. The move was encouraged by conservatives for the protection of minors but companies like PHub are taking a stance against the new law.

Texas state law mandates users submit photos of their government ID and facial scans. PHub filed a lawsuit arguing the law violates the First Amendment. Their case won in court, and much of the original bill was blocked, but the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit upheld the age verification requirement. The court cited a 1968 Supreme Court decision to prevent minors from accessing “obscene materials”.
PHub has criticised the law as “ineffective, haphazard, and dangerous”, stating it infringes on adult rights and limits content creators.

Anyways, Texas lawmakers cite the protection of minors from adult content as it’s “proven to harm human brain development”. But, yes, enabling gender dysphoria and child marriage is perfectly fine.
When Texan users attempt to visit PHub now, they are met with a statement explaining the (hopefully) temporary suspension of state access until better laws are instated.
