REMEMBERING AARON

Aaron Carter’s introduction to fame came by way of his older brother Nick Carter who is a member of Backstreet Boys. Aaron released his first studio album in 1997 at only 10 titled Aaron Carter. That same year, he opened for Backstreet Boys while they were on tour in Berlin.

Having found fame at such a young age, Carter forged his musical career performing pop and rap tracks that included the much-loved I Want Candy and I’m All About You.

The singer later struggled with addiction and mental health issues which, reportedly, caused a rift between himself and his family. In his memorial post to his brother, Nick Carter says, “Even though my brother and I have had a complicated relationship, my love for him has never, ever faded,” reports ABC News.

In 2017, the singer announced that he was ready to share with the world that he was bisexual. This part of his identity was something he reported feeling conflicted about since he was young. “This doesn’t bring me shame, just a weight and burden I have held onto for a long time that I would like lifted off me,” he said in his coming out post.

Throughout his struggles, Carter maintained a loyal fanbase and he is remembered with fondness and love.
