Shonda Rhimes Keeps Making Us Fall In Love: “Queen Charlotte’s” Corey Mylchreest Is Our White Boy Of The Month

A title that’s perhaps a little less lofty than King, White Boy Of The Month is bestowed upon those who are the internet’s current obsession. Corey Mylchreest plays young King George in the Netflix series Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story and we know who’s up next for White Boy Of The Month!

No, but seriously, where is she finding these men?

The Bridgerton novels written by Julia Quinn have been adapted for screen by Shonda Rhimes in partnership with Netflix and all we can say is, Thank You! The first two seasons of the series were a critical success and the spin-off mini-series Queen Charlotte is likely to follow in those footsteps.

The Guardian reviewer Lucy Mangan says, “The series is a rare exception to the rule of prequels (generally substantially worse than the originals and undermining all previous endeavours) and will hopefully set many of its younger stars on the road to success.”

Showrunner and producer Shonda Rhimes is like a magnet for White Boys Of The Month; think McDreamy from Grey’s Anatomy or Jonathan Bailey and Regé-Jean Page from the original Bridgerton series. Now, we welcome our new obsession: Corey Mylchreest. The 25-year-old has a few acting credits under his belt, namely a brief appearance in Netflix’s The Sandman and a handful of short films. Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story is Mylchreest’s breakout role though and break out he did.

The world of Bridgerton offers us “Gentle Readers” all the sex, scandal and spice we expect of a modern story only wrapped up in the lush opulence of Regency-era pomp. Mylchreest does an exceptional job and makes for the perfect candidate for White Boy Of The Month (it’s not like an official thing or anything, just funny to say).
