Out Swimmer Dan Jervis Talks About Qualifying For The Olympics

Gay swimmer Dan Jervis has secured his spot at the Paris 2024 Olympics following his impressive victory in the 1,500m freestyle event at the British Swimming Championships in London.

Jervis, who came out as gay in June 2022, triumphed in the race with a time of 14:47.94, comfortably surpassing the Paris 2024 qualification mark of 14:54.29.

Jervis’ achievement marks his return to the Olympic stage after finishing fifth at the Tokyo Games in 2021, and he is eager to make a splash on the international platform once again.

He described the moment as the pinnacle of his swimming career, highlighting the unwavering support of his family, friends, and partner who were present at the event. His father was among those who congratulated him as he emerged from the pool.

Jervis credited his coach and support team for helping him overcome obstacles and reach this milestone. Looking ahead to Paris, he expressed his desire to enjoy the experience and perform at his best.
