Music: Omar Apollo – “God Said No”
Omar’s music is one fizzy melting pot of gay pop – fresh, vibrant and completely unique. Yes, he’s that good!
Omar Apollo is a tall, 27-year-old proudly gay Mexican-American musician who is probably about the hippest and hottest person on the planet right now.
Recently completing an Australian tour, his second album, God Said No, is shooting his ascending star at full speed into the stratosphere. With a Grammy nomination already behind him, a scene-stealing showing on this year’s Met Gala red carpet, and a surprise appearance from hunky actor Pedro Pascal on his new album, this is Omar’s time and he knows it.
So why exactly is he such a game-changer? Because his music seamlessly genre-leaps between moody Latin-pop ballads to nu-disco stormers with a dash of hip-hop, R&B and whatever else he feels like adding to the mix at that moment. Omar’s output makes for one fizzy melting pot of gay pop, at turns fresh, vibrant and completely unique. Yes, he’s that good, trust us.
