Mask4Mask: Orville Peck Teases Face Reveal And Now We’re A Mess
There’s something about gay country music star Orville Peck that screams sexy. The usually-masked cowboy has walked the line between masculinity and femininity, drawing from country music aesthetics and the fabulousness of camp.
Fans were offered a minor face reveal via Instagram but the singer knows how to keep the mystery alive.
Giddy Up
Orville surprised fans with his subtle reveal on Saturday, ditching his iconic fringed mask in a series of Instagram photos. While still sporting his trademark cowboy hat, Peck offered a glimpse of his chin and lips, albeit with his eyes cleverly concealed.
Peck is known for his inviting blue eyes, usually peeking through a fringed mask. There’s something alluring in his look, just enough traditional cowboy with undeniable queer flare. As a musician, he’s known for the haunting Dead Of Night, famously featured in season 2 of Euphoria, and for his remix of kd lang’s lesbian classic, Miss Chatelaine.
Despite his unconventional look, the singer’s style is firmly country and his colabs include work with Shania Twain on the Legends Never Die single.
Getting back to his face reveal (sort of), he’s sent fans into a tizzy. There have been artist creations of what his whole face looks like but as an artist Peck has never outright posted a selfie – this latest Insta post is the closest thing we’ve seen.
Peck has previously explained that his mask serves not only to maintain anonymity but also to embody a drag-inspired persona on stage. It’s definitely working for him.
