Jude York, the singer/songwriter who Eurovision fans will know from his appearance on Australia Decides, has covered Katy Perry’s hit I Kissed A Girl, and changed the gender in the lyrics so that he gets to lock lips with a bloke. Jude also describes how the other fella’s stubble feels on his lips as he hopes his girlfriend doesn’t mind!

The Queensland country-boy-turned-popster appeared on our radar performing his uplifting power ballad, I Won’t Need To Dream, on Australia Decides in 2022.
A RISING STAR
Jude has a strong and emotive voice, which he uses to great effect singing his self-penned, heartfelt songs. Unfortunately, I Won’t Need To Dream didn’t get him to Eurovision, but it did tune many new fans into this unique, rising star.
Jude York announced on his social media that he has released his cover of I Kissed A Girl/Boy on all streaming platforms on January 27, 2023 and the song highlights the delicate tenor of Jude’s vocal range and is a softer acoustic version of the original track.
Since releasing the cover online, it has reportedly been receiving much positive feedback with the TikTok video having over 1.4 million views and the YouTube video having over 115k views. If you’re looking to add the track to your music library or favourite playlist you can stream it from all major platforms and find links here.
