Apple TV+ has officially announced the project, an eight-part limited series titled Wild Things: Siegfried And Roy. Law is slated to portray the cool Siegfried Fischbacher, with Garfield taking on the role of the charismatic and fiery Roy Horn.
Many will remember Law’s turn as Lord Alfred Douglas in the 1997 film Wilde, and his role as the gay hustler Billy Carl Hanson in Midnight In The Garden Of Good And Evil that same year. Garfield, of course, earned massive acclaim, including a Tony Award, for his powerful performance as Prior Walter in the landmark play Angels In America, and also starred in the 2006 stage production of the beloved gay play Beautiful Thing. With these kinds of credentials, could their chemistry in Wild Things: Siegfried And Roy be anything less than electric?
The series promises a deep look into the dazzling and complex world of Siegfried and Roy. John Hoffman, known for his work on the hit Only Murders In The Building, is steering this ship. His ability to weave suspense with genuine heart and a touch of humour seems a perfect match for this incredible story.

Adding to the powerhouse creative team is director Matt Shakman, who has given us visual feasts like WandaVision and Monarch: Legacy Of Monsters, and is also set to direct Marvel’s new Fantastic Four film. Production is expected to begin this spring.
Wild Things: Siegfried And Roy draws from the 2022 Apple Original podcast of the same name. According to Entertainment Weekly, the biopic will chart their meteoric rise to fame and will certainly examine the infamous 2003 incident where Roy Horn was attacked by one of the duo’s 400-pound tigers during a live show. That moment almost cost him his life and marked the effective end of their stage careers.
The official word from Apple TV+ gives us a taste of what to expect:
“The series tells the wild ride relationship tale of two of the greatest showmen-magicians in history who, along with their white tigers, are tasked with turning Sin City into a family-friendly destination. The duo pushes the concept of illusion versus reality to the extreme, personally and professionally, until tragedy reframes and opens a mystery surrounding their last fateful Las Vegas show.”
Beyond the spectacle and the near tragedy, it seems the series will also explore the persistent questions surrounding Siegfried and Roy’s personal lives. The podcast is based on notably tried to answer whether the two men were romantically involved. While Siegfried and Roy themselves never publicly confirmed a romantic relationship, a significant comment came after the tiger attack. Alan Feldman, then a spokesperson for MGM Mirage, told The Advocate. “It’s well-known that they were lovers at one time. I don’t think anybody is hiding that.”
Sadly, Roy Horn passed away in 2020 at 75 from complications related to covid, followed by Siegfried Fischbacher in 2021 at age 81 due to pancreatic cancer.
