5 Ways Jonathan Bailey Is Basically A Martini
Jonathan Bailey is the new face of Martini, the first to take the “Martini Man” mantle since George Clooney. The campaign images are pure Riviera fantasy, and naturally, we have opinions.
Some men are a beer at the pub. Some are a glass of wine with dinner. Jonathan Bailey is a martini, and here’s exactly why.

1. He goes straight to your head
One look and it’s over. Whether he’s in Regency-era velvet or completely naked getting schtooped by Matt Bomer in Fellow Travelers, Bailey has the kind of presence that short-circuits rational thought. You weren’t planning to spend the evening obsessing over him.

2. He’s best served cold, but leaves a warm afterglow
On the surface, he’s cool, composed, elegant. He carries himself with the kind of effortless refinement that seems almost unfair. But spend five minutes watching any interview and you’ll find he’s genuinely funny, self-deprecating, and completely disarming. Chilled glass. Warm soul.

3. He gets better with a twist
Add a lemon twist to a classic martini, and it becomes something else entirely. Bailey was brilliant in Broadchurch and Crashing, but then came Bridgerton, then Fellow Travelers, then Wicked, each role a new layer. He keeps finding the twist. And who wouldn’t want to nibble on his olive?

4. Everyone has a strong opinion on how they like him
Shaken or stirred? Gin or vodka? Dirty or dry? Jonathan Bailey fans are equally opinionated. The Anthony-Bridgerton-girlie crowd and the Fiyero-in-head-to-toe-sequins crowd and the understated-dramatic-actor-drinking-Matt-Bomer’s-milk crowd all think their version is the best one.

5. One is never enough
This is the fundamental problem. You sit down to watch one episode, one film, one red carpet moment, and then it’s 2am and you’re six seasons deep into something you swore you weren’t going to watch. Just like a good martini, the intention is always moderation. The reality is never.
