John Duff, the voice behind catchy tunes like Hokie Pokie and Somebody’s Daughter, is set to release his new album, Greatest Hits: Deluxe Edition on September 27.
Hokie Pokie, Somebody’s Daughter, Do It, and High Heels have made waves. Duff is also the partner of actor Rafael De La Fuente (pictured together below), who was in a DNA Hot Take last week.
The album has nine new songs, with tracks drawing from the music styles of the ’50s to ’70s. Duff shared his thoughts about this release:
“I wrote and recorded most of these songs in 2020. I didn’t know if I would ever release this collection, as it is so different than the music many of you expect from me. I considered releasing it under a pseudonym, so as not to confuse the streaming algorithm. “Ultimately I decided, it’s great – and it’s mine. Bold authenticity will always be the foundation of my artistry, so as long as it’s me – it’s cohesive. If it all falls on deaf ears – that’s okay. It will be out there and SOMEONE will love it.”
Duff’s fans are excited. They’ve left supportive comments on his social media. One fan from Italy wrote: “I admire your determination and your hard work on being you as an artist!”

Duff teased the album with a video on Instagram. In it, he sings in various states of undress. The video starts with Duff in underwear and socks. It then shows him on a bed in a white shirt and animal print underwear
