Joakim Kleven Drops His Major Label Debut “FREAK” And A Steamy Group Shower!
Norwegian filmmaker, photographer, and TV personality Joakim Kleven has officially arrived in the music world. His new single, FREAK, is out now via Universal Music and comes with a music video he directed himself.
Who is Joakim Kleven?
Kleven has been turning up in exactly the right places for years. He made television history when he became the first man in Norway to dance with a same-sex partner on Skal vi danse?, the Norwegian version of Dancing With The Stars. His tango with professional dancer Benjamin Jayakoddy brought the entire studio to its feet, earning them a perfect ten from the judges and landing them at the top of the leaderboard. More recently, he appeared as a contestant on I Kissed A Boy Norge, the Amazon Prime Video dating series that placed ten single men in a sun-soaked Italian mansion and premiered in November 2025.
What is FREAK about?
The track is confident, danceable pop with something to say. Produced by Ronny Graff Janssen and co-written by Janssen, Kim Wigaard, and Kleven, FREAK is built around a clear message: own what makes you different. The music video matches that energy, high-concept and unapologetically bold.

FREAK is Kleven’s first release with a major label. He previously put out Scream It Out and Generation 2.0 as an independent artist, but this feels like a different level entirely.
Kleven said of the release: “Just writing this right now is making me cry, this has been a huge dream that I’ve been working towards for a long time, and the day is finally here.”
