Hugh Sheridan revealed in an interview with The Jess Rowe Big Talk Show that they were secretly married, for nine years, to US actor Rafael de la Fuente. Initially choosing to withhold de la Fuente’s name in the interview, Sheridan explained that privacy was, and still is, very important to them, reports Daily Mail Australia.
THIS IS HUGH NEWS!
Hugh Sheridan is best-known for their work on the Australian drama series Packed To The Rafters and for their role in Five Bedrooms. Sheridan is a genderqueer triple threat being able to act, sing and dance and has been on the cover of DNA (DNA #258) with then-fiance, Kurt Roberts.

The actor and singer has had a somewhat turbulent time of late with the announcement of their breakup with Kurt Roberts, their coming out as non-binary and with the online controversy for their casting in Hedwig And The Angry Inch. This latest news of a secret marriage has once again sparked interest in Sheridan’s private life.

Daily Mail Australia has revealed that the secret ex-husband in question is actor Rafael de la Fuente. He plays Sammy Jones on the Netflix remake of Dynasty and was in the Fox drama series Empire. In Sheridan’s interview, they explain that the couple had been dating for years but keeping it private before tying the knot in 2011. Due to work schedules and personal difficulties the marriage didn’t last but the two remain friends.
“We were solidly together for about seven [years] and then the last couple we were travelling a lot and it got too hard… but we’re still very good friends,” says Hugh. “I think privacy is personal and I think most people should be entitled to it.”
