“Here To Pee” Comedy Tour Protesting Anti-Trans Laws Is What America Needs!
What do you do when politicians try to legislate you out of public bathrooms? If you’re comedian Ren Q Dawe, you start a comedy tour called Here To Pee and plan a stop in all 50 states. It is a bold, first-of-its-kind tour that uses stand-up comedy as a form of protest.
It’s comedy, but it’s also a protest.
Led by Dawe, the tour brings together trans comedians and performers to directly challenge the hostile political climate. After a smaller run of shows in 2024, Dawe saw the need to go bigger, creating a platform for trans voices in every corner of the country. The tour is a direct response to the surge of organised attacks on LGBTQIA+ people.

Colorado State Representative Brianna Titone, who is the first openly trans elected official in her state, calls the tour the “kind of medicine our country needs right now”. She sees it as both an inspiration and a protest, noting that for a long time, trans people were the punchline. This tour flips the script entirely.
Putting their money where their mouth is.
This is more than just a performance. The organisers are committed to making a real difference on the ground by donating 50 per cent of all ticket proceeds to local nonprofit organisations. Each group chosen provides direct services and support to trans individuals in their community. Bruce Parker of Rocky Mountain Equality summed up the project’s significance, calling the tour “both iconic and dynamically important.”
And yes, someone is filming the whole thing…
To make sure the story reaches an even wider audience, award-winning documentarian Jeff Stonic is leading a film crew following the tour. The documentary will focus on the on-stage comedy, the local activism in each city, and the personal stories of people affected by anti-trans legislation.
