“Heated Rivalry” Season 2 Is Coming and Here’s What the Cast Is Up to Now
Everyone seems to be talking about Heated Rivalry right now, and the timing makes sense. Season one finished in December after a six-episode run that started in November with new episodes dropping weekly.

Season two is already locked in. TV Guide reports the pickup was confirmed on 12 December 2025, with the series set to return across multiple territories via streaming partners.
Why this show has become the one everyone recommends.
We’ve seen a lot of “you have to watch this” TV come and go, but Heated Rivalry has hit that sweet spot where the chemistry is the hook and the feelings keep you there. The New York Times shared historian Jim Downs’ take that what grabs people is “not the thrill of naked bodies but the shock of being emotionally known”.
There’s also a bigger trend behind it. People reports a major surge in interest in sports romance, with Libby (a digital library app) saying activity around Rachel Reid’s 2019 novel jumped sharply after the TV adaptation landed.

A quick reset on what season one actually did.
The show adapts Reid’s Game Changers books and centres on two elite hockey players who start as rivals and end up trying to protect something real. If you are wondering why social feeds suddenly look like a fan club, it helps that the release schedule was built for weekly conversation, not a one-night binge.

So what are Hudson Williams and Connor Storrie doing next?
Just Jared’s cast update is the easiest place to start. Hudson Williams, who plays Shane Hollander, is voicing the character Finn in the Quinn Original audio series Ember & Ice (Quinn is an audio storytelling platform), and he has several screen projects in motion, including the Netflix series The Altruists. They also notes he has signed with CAA (Creative Artists Agency).
Connor Storrie, who plays Ilya Rozanov, is also part of Ember & Ice, and he has wrapped his feature directorial debut Transaction Planet, which he shot entirely on an iPhone, according to Just Jared.

There is no release date yet. TV Guide reports Williams suggested filming could begin in “July or August”, and showrunner Jacob Tierney has indicated the turnaround will be slower than season one’s schedule. In other words, late 2026 or early 2027 looks more realistic than “same time next year”.
One awards detail worth knowing.
If you have seen chatter about awards, Cosmopolitan reports the show is not eligible for the Emmys under current rules because it originated as a Canadian production before US acquisition, though it could still be in the mix for International Emmy recognition.
