Happy Birthday JJ Malibu!

JJ MALIBU (SUPPLIED)

There’s a lot of reasons for fun, funky and fresh JJ Malibu to celebrate this month!

It’s the underwear and lifestyle brand’s 5th anniversary, and they’ve come a long way in a short time. When launching the brand, creator and creative director Jed Jin set out to cater specifically to the LGBTQA+ community and has succeeded brilliantly. JJ Malibu seemed to come out of nowhere like a fresh ocean breeze and have become an influential major player.

JJ Malibu creator, Jed Jin.

It all started from the basement of Jed’s parents’ house, with him wrapping and shipping his packages. Today, they operate from a huge warehouse in Toronto, housing three brands. Jed knows what it takes to make a successful clothing business. In JJ Malibu’s case it was a matter of noticing a gap in the market and stepping up.

Where were the brands designed by and for gay people? Jed asked himself. The number of fast-fashion brands catered specifically for the LGBTIQA+ community was and is slim.

Now, JJ Malibu has a strong voice and image, and is well known within the community, shipping to over 140 countries, and having been featured on RuPaul’s Drag Race.

JJ Malibu offers customers a diverse colour palette and many options to truly express their fun and vibrant selves. From daring designs to casual polos and tees, there’s something for everyone.

JJ Malibu also creates a safe space for any gender identity, sexual orientation, race, ethnicity, size or lifestyle.
