It all started from the basement of Jed’s parents’ house, with him wrapping and shipping his packages. Today, they operate from a huge warehouse in Toronto, housing three brands. Jed knows what it takes to make a successful clothing business. In JJ Malibu’s case it was a matter of noticing a gap in the market and stepping up.
Where were the brands designed by and for gay people? Jed asked himself. The number of fast-fashion brands catered specifically for the LGBTIQA+ community was and is slim.
Now, JJ Malibu has a strong voice and image, and is well known within the community, shipping to over 140 countries, and having been featured on RuPaul’s Drag Race.
