Gay Former Weatherman Erick Adame Calls Out Online Predators
When Erick Adame was fired from his job as a meteorologist at NY1 Spectrum News, the internet rose to his defence. An anonymous individual had screenshot images of Adame in a webcam chatroom where he was involved in sexcamming.
Since his dismissal and the public news of the sexcamming broke, Adame reveals he has been experiencing various kinds of humiliation and exploitation from online sexual predators. He addresses these individuals in an Instagram video posted to his main account, reports QNews.
WHERE IS THE RESPECT FOR REASONABLE PRIVACY?
Erick Adame may have led a public life being the face of the Spectrum News weather report, but his private life collided with his public one when an anonymous user found Adame sexcamming. Upon this discovery, the individual took screenshots against the site’s code of conduct guidelines and subsequently sent them to Adame’s boss and mother.
In his apology statement, Erick Adame states that he is sorry for the distress that this situation has caused for his loved ones and his superiors at work, but he is not apologising for being gay or for being sexually liberated.
In a new video, Adame states he is still experiencing harassment and he calls out online predators for taking things to extreme measures. In his video, Adame states that he has been having a rough couple of months since the leak in September and that he wants his harassers to know he does not appreciate being humiliated or exploited.
The trade of sexually explicit material online is a problem for many public-facing individuals. Especially considering that most often this content is obtained through ethically reproachable means. Erick Adame warns his followers that the internet can be a dangerous place and to be wary.
The post following the video is on a lighter note showing Erick Adame with his boyfriend. The captions says: “I’m a man who wants to be loved, like anyone else would want. And I’m lucky enough to have found that in 2022 despite everything else that happened. Love you, stud.”
