Former Gay Adult Film Star Antonio Moreno’s Run For Mayor
Former gay adult performer Antonio Moreno, who used to go by the stage name Héctor de Silva, has announced his candidacy for mayor of Carcelén, a small town located in eastern Spain. Despite his controversial past in the adult film industry, Moreno has expressed confidence in his ability to lead the town and make a positive impact on its residents, reports Advocate.

“I take my past as a porn actor normally because my family, who supported me, knew about it, and I have always been honest with them. It is a stage in my life that I don’t regret because I learned a lot,” Moreno says. He also expressed that he believes his past experiences can bring a unique perspective to his leadership, and that he is committed to representing all members of the community.
Carcelén, which has a population of just 483 residents, has never had a candidate with such a controversial background run for mayor. According to Advocate, the Partido Popular (PP) political party, which Moreno is running with, leans conservative but in some parts of Spain have introduced legislation to ban anti-LGBTQIA+ legislation.
It remains to be seen how Moreno’s candidacy will be received by the people of Carcelén, and whether his past will be a significant factor in the upcoming election. However, one thing is for certain – his candidacy has stirred up interest and discussion in the small town.
