Bad Bunny Just Made Super Bowl History And Brought Some Familiar Faces With Him
“ICE out.” A week after that Grammys line, Bad Bunny hit the Super Bowl LX halftime stage with a show that barely bothered with English.
On 8 February 2026 (US time), he headlined at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California. He performed almost entirely in Spanish, with the broadcast leaning into Puerto Rican culture from the first beat. Did anyone expect the NFL to let Spanish run the room on its biggest night?
He opened with Tití Me Preguntó and tore through fan favourites, including Yo Perreo Sola, Safaera, Voy a Llevarte Pa PR, MONACO, and NUEVAYoL, before folding in El Apagón and closing with DtMF.
Midway, the staging leaned into a standout visual: a bright “casita” set piece that doubled as a cameo machine, with appearances from Jessica Alba, Pedro Pascal, Cardi B and Karol G.
Lady Gaga and Ricky Martin kept it sharp.
Lady Gaga returned with a salsa-inflected version of Die With A Smile, performed during an onstage wedding moment. Rolling Stone noted the segment featured Bad Bunny’s backing band Los Pleneros de la Cresta, behind her.

Ricky Martin then took the spotlight during the El Apagón section, singing LO QUE LE PASÓ A HAWAii.
The queer context was already baked in.
Bad Bunny accepted GLAAD’s (Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation) Vanguard Award in 2023, presented by Martin. He has also made a habit of pushing back on old-school machismo, including appearing in drag in the Yo Perreo Sola video, and he honoured Alexa Negrón Luciano on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon in 2020.

Pre-game, Brandi Carlile performed America The Beautiful, and Green Day opened the night’s entertainment. Billie Joe Armstrong has described himself as bisexual, which added another layer to the night’s energy.
Politics hovered, even when it was not named.
Bad Bunny did not repeat “ICE out” on the field, but he ended with a clear message on a football: “Together We Are America.” Leading into the game, Donald Trump and MAGA figures criticised the booking, and Turning Point USA promoted a Kid Rock-led alternative halftime livestream.

And yes, the Seahawks won, with an Aussie on the field.
On the football side, the Seattle Seahawks beat the New England Patriots 29–13 at Levi’s Stadium. Australian punter Michael Dickson played and logged six punts for 283 yards (about 259 m), averaging 47.2 yards (about 43 m) per punt.
