Rachel Reid Brings Ilya And Shane Back In “Unrivaled”, The Final “Game Changers” Book
Rachel Reid is returning to her most talked-about hockey couple with Unrivaled, a new novel set for release on 29 September 2026.
The book continues the story of Ilya Rozanov and Shane Hollander, picking up after Heated Rivalry and The Long Game. It is being positioned as the seventh and final installment in Reid’s Game Changers series.

What’s Unrivaled about.
For the first time in their careers, Ilya and Shane aren’t hiding. They’re out, married, and now playing on the same team, which should feel like the victory lap fans have been waiting for.
But the story doesn’t stay cosy for long. The hockey world around them is split, with loud backlash coming from a popular in-universe podcast (Top Shelf) and a growing #TakeBackHockey movement.
Reid’s Game Changers books have always been as much about the locker room as the romance, pushing at the parts of pro sports culture that prefer things quiet and “don’t ask.” Unrivaled leans into that conflict head-on, with Ilya and Shane finally able to stand in the open, then discovering that being visible comes with a cost. It’s also a notable full-circle moment for readers who started with earlier titles in the series.

When it’s out and where to find it.
Unrivaled is listed for 29 September 2026, with pre-orders already live at major retailers.
Reid, who lives in Nova Scotia, Canada, has built a loyal following for character-driven hockey romances that balance sweetness, heat, and real stakes.
