As the Coronavirus outbreak continues to sweep the world, LA Pride is the latest major event to be cancelled.

In a tweet, LA Pride said “all events related to the 50th Anniversary of LA Pride that were scheduled for June 2020,” will be postponed.

The planned 50th celebrations were to be held from 12 to 14 June and expected to draw 200,000 people to West Hollywood.

Organisers did not say whether they will move it to another date saying only that they are “assessing the situation,” and will provide more information about the postponement when details become available.

LA Pride joins other major events to cancel over concerns about the Coronavirus, including RuPaul’s DragCon, and music festivals Coachella, and South by Southwest.

Via a post on their website, RuPaul DragCon said it was cancelling the event putting the health and safety of everyone concerned as a top priority. The event will return bigger than ever in 2021.
