Was This Life-Sized Henry Cavill Doll Too Hot For Instagram?

A Texas collector, James Robertson-Reavis, commissioned a life-size silicone figure of Henry Cavill from Steve Davies at SD Sculpt & Design in England. The studio shared progress and reveal clips, and the realistic skin texture and chest hair included helped the story spread fast.

Robertson-Reavis told Queerty he bought the figure to display and to create content, describing it as a “roommate situation” for Instagram. He also said the figure is “anatomically correct” but “not a sex doll.”

He didn’t disclose his bill, but he told Queerty that similar custom commissions typically run between USD 7,000 and USD 12,000.

As of this writing, we’ve found no credible reports confirming legal action over the figure or the social accounts. One entertainment blog speculated about a possible cease-and-desist, but it offered no sourcing beyond opinion. We will update if that changes.

The commission came from SD Sculpt & Design, the owner says it’s not a sex doll, price guidance is in the USD 7–12k range, and both the maker’s and the companion accounts are accessible today. If you’re wondering whether the ethics change when AI enters the chat, you’re not alone. We are asking the same question.

So where did they go…

Just as quickly as the doll appeared, its creator seems to have vanished. The studio’s Instagram account, @sdsculptdesign2017, is no longer accessible. This disappearance has left many wondering what happened.

Did Henry Cavill’s legal team send a strongly worded letter? Or was the small studio simply overwhelmed by the tidal wave of attention and an inbox full of very specific, very expensive requests? At this stage, it is all speculation.

The dream of having a life-size Henry Cavill of your own might be on indefinite hold. For now, it seems we’ll have to go back to admiring the real man in reruns of The Witcher, while his silicone twin remains missing in action.
