It hasn’t been a great week for the hard-right US evangelical church leader, Jerry Falwell Junior after revelations emerged he and his wife had an alleged sexual relationship with a younger man – Giancarlo Granada.

Granada told Reuters he met the couple in March 2012 when he was 20 and working as a pool boy at the Fontainebleau Miami Beach hotel. He alleges he and Becki Falwell would have sex as Jerry looked on.

Producing text messages and emails to confirm the nature of the relationship, Granada said, “Becki and I developed an intimate relationship and Jerry enjoyed watching from the corner of the room.”

Granda said in the interview that he had sex with Becki Falwell “multiple times per year” sometimes in hotels and other times at the Falwells’ home in Virginia.

Granada also provided a recording of a conversation he’d had with the Falwells (listen below). In the recording Becki complained about Granda describing his relationships with other people: “He’s like telling me every time he hooks up with people. Like I don’t have feelings or something.” Jerry then chimed in: “You’re going to make her jealous.”

“I’m not trying to do that,” Granda replied.

After eight years, however, things turned sour when Granada wanted to exit the relationship.

Reuters reported the Falwell’s initially denied the allegations but then released a statement via the Washington Examiner to confirm Becki had had an affair but asserted the cuckold allegations were Granada’s attempt to extort money from the couple.

“Becki had an inappropriate personal relationship with this person, something in which I was not involved,” Falwell told the Washington Examiner.

Falwell Jr was instrumental in the nomination of Trump in the 2016 presidential campaign and up until this week ran one of the United States largest Christian universities.

The evangelical vote represents around 25 percent and have been a staunch backer of the president. Becki Falwell is also a prominent political figure serving on an advisory board – Women For Trump, which advocates for Trump’s re-election.

Falwell Jr has resigned from the board of Liberty University.
