Trump’s Highest Ranking Gay Threatens: “I’m Gonna Punch You In Your F–king Face” Allegedly

Scott Bessent (U.S. Department of the Treasury)

It seems the drama in Washington is getting seriously physical these days. The Trump administration’s highest-ranking openly gay official, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, reportedly threatened to get into a brawl with a fellow cabinet member at a private party, according to a recent story from Politico. The alleged target was Bill Pulte, the Director of the Federal Housing Finance Agency, or FHFA.

Bessent’s position in the administration is, to put it mildly, complicated. As the highest-ranking out official in a cabinet known for its often-fraught relationship with LGBTQIA+ rights, his appointment was always going to be a lightning rod for conversation.

For many, seeing an out gay man in such a powerful role raises complex questions about what representation means, especially when that role requires navigating an environment where aggression seems to be the currency of the day.

What started the fight at the MAGA billionaire’s party.

The scene of the confrontation was a birthday party for venture capitalist and Trump supporter Chamath Palihapitiya. According to five sources who spoke with Politico, Bessent confronted Pulte for supposedly speaking negatively about his leadership directly to the president. The exchange quickly escalated.

“Why the f*ck are you talking to the president about me? Fu*ck you,” Bessent reportedly said to Pulte, before adding, “I’m gonna punch you in your f*cking face.” The situation apparently became so tense that the restaurant’s owner had to step in, ending with Bessent inviting Pulte to “go outside” so he could “f*cking beat your ass.”

Apparently, this isn’t his first screaming match…

This isn’t the first time Bessent’s temper has made headlines. Back in April, Axios reported on a screaming match between Bessent and Elon Musk, who at the time was the head of the Department of Government Efficiency, or DOGE. A witness described the argument over budget cuts as “two billionaire, middle-aged men thinking it was WWE in the hall of the West Wing.” The Washington Post later reported that the two became physical and had to be separated.

Just a month after that incident, Musk left his role in the administration. He appeared at a final press conference with a black eye, which he claimed his young son had given him. In a later interview with Bloomberg, Bessent denied any involvement. “I can 100 per cent say I did not give him the black eye,” he stated.

Dare we give him the nickname “Bruiser” Bessent?
