Troye’s Official “Got Me Started” Video Is Out And We Love It
Debuting a new single from his upcoming album Something To Give Each Other, Troye Sivan’s latest music video features more catchy beats, incredible choreography and bold celebrations of queerness.
Got Me Started features sampling from the much-loved Shooting Stars by the Bag Raiders and the music video even delivers a shot of Troye in the nude.
An interesting new era of Troye Sivan
Early fans of Troye’s work will remember his Blue Neighbourhood album, released when he was 20, when his work was a soft and intimate expression of his emerging adulthood. It is looking likely that Something To Give Each Other will usher in a bold, loud and unapologetic side to the singer.
Rush gave us a club beat that announces itself as explicit, exciting and captivating. Got Me Started arrives with a softer approach and an altogether different vibe. Troye spoke with Apple Music 1′s Zane Lowe to describe the impetus for the single. “[It’s] the euphoric moment of total freedom, realising that you’re completely fine on your own and that also this is not a moment of sadness, but a moment of endless possibilities,” he says.
Although the two singles from his upcoming album have divergent sounds, there’s a cohesion in the narrative they weave. Troye’s Something To Give Each Other will be a no-holds-barred album that speaks to his experience with raw veracity and heart.
