Troye Sivan has released a new track called You Know What I Need with the electronic pop group PNAU. The groovy single blends the synthy, upbeat signature sound of PNAU with Sivan’s pop lyrics and melodic notes, reports NME.

THE SUMMER BOP TO GET GROOVING TO

Troye Sivan is a singer/songwriter who emerged from Western Australia, best known for his work in acting and on social media before transitioning into a successful music career. On August 7, 2013, Sivan came out on his YouTube channel and began to produce and release music for his many fans. Since then, he has become synonymous with electro-pop dance tunes that incorporate lyrics inspired by queer culture.

Joining forces with PNAU, an Australian-based trio with hits such as Chameleon and Solid Gold, You Know What I Need is the collaboration that will set the mood for summer in the southern hemisphere. “I’m so happy this song is coming out just before the Australian summer,” says Sivan. “It sounds like a beach festival to me, and I am stoked to have it out,” reports NME.

“Working with Troye again has been amazing,” says Nick Littlemore of PNAU. “When we wrote this song, we had no idea that we would get so lucky to have Troye Sivan singing and bringing his unbridled creativity to the world of PNAU.”

The trippy visuals that have been gracing both PNAU and Sivans’ social media set the tone for the dreamy, synth-like bop that was released on December 2. The accompanying music video is much the same in that regard featuring one long, psychedelic-inspired video of Troye Sivan dancing and singing to the tune.
