Troye Sivan Claims Three Major ARIA Awards, Including Album Of The Year
The Australian Recording Industry Association (ARIA) Awards, Australia’s version of the Grammy Awards, saw Troye Sivan take home three major awards at Sydney’s Hordern Pavilion on the 20th of November.
Sivan’s latest album Something To Give Each Other won Album Of The Year, beating pop icon Kylie Minogue. The album, which reached No. 1 on the ARIA Albums Chart (his first Australian chart-topper), also earned him Best Pop Release and Best Solo Artist.
The success of Something To Give Each Other extends beyond Australian shores. The track Got Me Started earned Sivan his first Grammy nomination in the Best Dance Pop Recording category, with results to be announced in early 2025.
This victory follows his impressive 2023 ARIA performance, where he collected four awards including Song Of The Year. His hit single Rush won Song of the Year at the APRA Awards, and the album earned a spot on the Australian Music Prize shortlist.
Australian Music’s Brightest Night
Lesbian the rock sensation, G Flip, claimed Song Of The Year with Worst Person Alive. Other winners included Dom Dolla for Best Dance/Electronic Release with Saving Up, and Teen Jesus And The Jean Teasers took home the Michael Gudinski Breakthrough Artist Award.
Missy Higgins joined the ARIA Hall of Fame and won Best Australian Live Act through public vote.
Sivan continues his Australasian tour, performing in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, and Auckland, New Zealand.
