TIN And Lostchild Duet On Troye Sivan’s ‘Dance To This’
Australian musician TIN and his partner, UK musician Lostchild have released a video clip featuring their cover of the Troye Sivan and Ariana Grande’s hit Dance To This.
The pair recorded the duet in February while TIN was in Europe but with the onset of the coronavirus he returned home to Australia separating the pair. They decided to throw open the music video inviting friends, family and fans all over the world to sing-a-long to highlight that while we might come from different backgrounds we’re all in iso together.
“Dance To This is a song about dancing in your kitchen, which is pretty much the only place you can dance in 2020, and so it seems like the perfect time to release the track. This was originally going to be a solo cover until TIN came to visit, we chatted about doing a duet and suddenly it clicked. It happened for a reason,” Lostchild said.
Lostchild and TIN hope the clip brings a moment of liberation and joy in what is an uncertain and difficult time for most. They point out their own struggle as closed borders have kept them separated, physically.
“After living in London and then touring Europe when I met Joe (Lostchild), I was already planning my move back to Europe so we could be together. When I had visited in February and we recorded this, we had no idea that there would be a global pandemic keeping us apart a month later so I am extremely grateful that we’ve had this as one of the things we’ve had to work together on,” TIN said.
