Theo James Takes Lead Role In Dark Korean Adaptation “The Hole” – Here’s What We Know
The talented and hot British actor Theo James is set to take the lead role in the film adaptation of The Hole, directed by Kim Jee-woon. This news has got cinema lovers talking, and for good reasons.
The film, based on the 2017 novel by Hye-young Pyun, tells the story of Owen, a professor in South Korea. After a tragic car accident claims his wife Sandy’s life, Owen finds himself bedridden, leading to a series of intense situations.
Theo James, known for his roles in The Time Traveler’s Wife, The White Lotus, and The Gentleman, has built an impressive career. His breakout came from playing Tobias “Four” Eaton in the Divergent series. Most recently, he got people talking with his role as Cameron Sullivan in The White Lotus Season 2.

Kim Jee-woon, the director of I Saw The Devil, brings his unique style to this project. His previous works include A Tale Of Two Sisters and The Good, The Bad, The Weird, which showed his skill in mixing genres and creating intense atmospheres. Christopher Chen wrote the screenplay, adapting it from the original novel.
The film started production in early 2024 in South Korea. James will work alongside rising star Mikey Madison, who plays the character Anora. Madison, known for her roles in Better Things and Once Upon A Time In Hollywood, brings fresh energy to the project.
