The Oscars After Party, Connor Storrie, Troye Sivan, François Arnaud… What’s Going On?
A fan-captured video posted to X on Sunday night appears to show Heated Rivalry star Connor Storrie leaving the 2026 Academy Awards around the same time as pop star Troye Sivan. The two walked out among the post-ceremony crowd both appeared to take a phone call simultaneously, a small, oddly synced detail that fans latched onto immediately.

Just friends, apparently
Sources with direct knowledge told TMZ that Connor and Troye are “just friends — not dating.” Reasonable enough. Two people can leave an awards ceremony at the same time without it signifying anything. That said, when those two people are a rising heartthrob from a queer drama and an openly gay pop star, the internet is going to do what the internet does.
Sivan, 30, came out publicly in 2013 and has been open about his sexuality ever since. Storrie, 26, who was born in Colorado, has remained notably tight-lipped about his personal life, which, predictably, only adds more fuel to the speculation.
It was already a big night for Storrie
Before the Troye moment went viral, Storrie had already turned heads at the Vanity Fair Oscar Party, where he and Heated Rivalry co-star Hudson Williams made their first joint red carpet appearance since the show’s Canadian premiere last autumn. Both arrived in coordinated, sheer looks. Earlier on the carpet, Williams ran to Storrie’s side in a playful photobomb moment that also circulated widely online.
What is Heated Rivalry?
The series is based on Rachel Reid’s hockey romance novel of the same name and was directed by Jacob Tierney. Storrie plays Ilya Rozanov, a Russian hockey player in a secret relationship with rival player Shane Hollander, played by Williams. The show became one of the most talked-about queer series of the past year, and Season 2 is currently in development. Storrie and Williams are set to return to Canada later this summer to begin filming.
Storrie has also been keeping the gossip columns busy on a separate front. He has been fuelling off-screen romance rumours with Heated Rivalry co-star François Arnaud, with cosy dinner sightings and a refusal from either party to confirm or deny anything.
Troye is far from quiet either
Sivan recently attracted attention after a viral TikTok doctor he had mentioned in a Substack essay responded publicly, sparking widespread discussion online.
Whether this is a blossoming friendship or just two people waiting for their respective rides, the clip did exactly what a 30-second video posted at midnight can do: keep everyone talking well into the next day.
