Swiss Advocate Michael Pereira Claims Mr Gay Europe 2025 Crown In Amsterdam
Amsterdam’s rainbow-soaked canals saw another triumph when Switzerland’s Michael Pereira lifted the Mr Gay Europe 2025 title during Pride Amsterdam’s closing festivities. Twelve finalists, each chosen in their home countries, checked in at the Mövenpick Hotel and spent four packed days proving why their voices matter.
Four days of challenges and camaraderie.
The programme mixed brains, heart, and sweat: an exam on LGBTQIA+ history and rights, private jury interviews, and a relay at the historic Olympic Stadium. Shoots at Sofitel Legend The Grand and a city tour rounded out the schedule, giving every contestant fresh content for their advocacy feeds.
Why this crown counts now.
“In a time when LGBTQIA+ rights and freedoms are under pressure across Europe, this year’s Mr Gay Europe couldn’t be more relevant,” Executive Producer Bram Bierkens told media, adding that the contest rewards purpose, not perfection.
Pereira’s winning platform, Safe To Grow, focuses on protecting queer youth in schools and sports. The 30-year-old fitness coach will now tour community events and policy forums, sharing strategies that turn protective policies into everyday practice.
Belgium’s Imran Nawaz secured second place for his faith-and-inclusion work, while Dutch mental-health advocate Kadeem van de Pol finished third, proving the continent’s talent pool is as diverse as its accents.
We can’t wait to see how Pereira’s tenure inspires new advocates.
