So, It Seems Murray Bartlett Has Always Been Gorgeous And Talented

Following the huge success of The White Lotus season one, Murray Bartlett secured himself his first Emmy Award for his role as Armand, the neurotic and spiralling hotel manager. For many audiences, this is his most recognisable role but, for many queer fans, we also know him for his work in Sex And The City, Looking and The Last Of Us.

OUR APPRECIATION POST

Murray has traditionally played gay male characters and we love that he does it so well. From his tenure on Looking, where he played Dom Basaluzzo, a frustrated gay man looking to change his life, to Frank in The Last Of Us managing his romance during the apocalypse – Murray effortlessly delivers complex characters in a very easy-to-watch style.

His first major role was on Sex And The City where he played Oliver Spencer, Carrie’s fabulous Australian shoe-importer gay friend. His acting range has grown significantly since then and our appreciation for this silver fox has, too.

Another recent Murray project is Hulu’s Welcome To Chippendales, a role where he actually doesn’t play gay. In Chippendales, Bartlett plays the seedy and suspicious Nick De Noia who births the idea for a male strip club show (so, not a gay character per se but intimately tied with something that feels gay). The role is a dramatic one opposite Kumail Nanjiani and shows off more of Murray’s impressive acting chops.

And finally, for those who have really been paying attention, Murray was gorgeous as the face of a Nivea For Men TV campaign back in 2003! You’re welcome, enjoy!
