Cold, hard data just got a lot more interesting, says Attitude, reporting that Pornhub and Pride.com have released their latest gay porn trends report, and it’s packed with fascinating insights.
“We’ve compiled data from billions of hits to explore the intricacies of online porn viewership,” said a Pornhub representative. Here are seven surprising insights reported by Attitude:
1. “Straight Guys” Dominate in Midwest America
In the Midwest, “straight guys” is the most viewed category. Minnesota shows a special interest in “farm hand,” Michigan prefers “farmer,” and Wyoming is all about “vintage cowboys.”
2. “Lingerie” Leads in California
In California, “lingerie” is the top relative gay search term. Tennessee’s top search is “grandpa jerks,” and Nebraska is all about “mushroom cock.”
3. “Twink” Rules in South America, Russia, and Europe
“Twink” is the dominant category in South America, Russia, and much of Europe. “Bareback” is the most popular category in North America and Australia.
4. Women Make Up 43% of Gay Porn Viewers
According to Pornhub, 43% of gay porn viewers are women, while 57% are men. The data does not represent non-binary viewers, which could be a blind spot in the research.
5. Older Adults Are More Likely to Watch Gay Porn
The 65+ age group is 104% more likely to watch gay porn than other age groups. In contrast, the 35-44 age group is 21% less likely, and the 25-34 age group is 17% less likely to watch gay porn.
6. Alaska Watches the Least Gay Content
Alaska is the state where users are least likely to watch gay content. Maine is the gayest state, with gay porn consumption 28% above the national average.
7. Trending Gay Porn Search Terms
Trending search terms include “vintage cowboys,” “bromance,” “real military,” and “feet worship”. And let’s not forget “farm hand”. Farming maybe 11,000 years old, but it still captures many imaginations!
