Famous Netflix Show Has Done It Again With Actors Without Clothes
Season one of Netflix’s Sex/Life was a smash hit and had tongues wagging. Season two brings much of the same heat, this time with actor Jonathan Sadowski baring it all on camera in a full-frontal scene. Showrunner Stacy Rukeyser designed the show to be an empowering narrative about female identity and sexuality, and viewers get way more than they bargained for, reports The Hollywood Reporter.
WE WATCH SEX/LIFE FOR THE “PLOT”
The intriguing narrative of Rukeyser’s Sex/Life does deserve respect; it follows Billie Connelly (played by Sarah Shahi) as she struggles within a dwindling marriage before meeting an old flame who reignites her passion and her sexuality.
Speaking about the nude scene this season, Rukeyser believes it is used as a way to punish the character Devon. “The [full-frontal nudity] scene with Jonathan Sadowski is hysterical, and I’m glad people are talking about it. It’s great comeuppance for his character. We do punish male characters who act the way Devon [Sadowski] acts in this season,” she says referring to Devon being chauvinistic and cocky (pun intended).
Season one provided audiences with a full frontal with Adam Demos’ character Brad; this was used as a device to demonstrate a sense of competition and of dominance over Mike Vogel’s character Cooper by Brad. Whereas the context of Devon’s full frontal was to show how he’d had his penis surgically attached after an unfortunate driving accident while receiving oral sex, reports The Hollywood Reporter.
The same chatter about whether the penis was a prosthetic has occurred (as it did with Adam Demos in season one), but regardless of it being natural or prosthetic it succeeded in getting audiences to discuss avidly.
“I think that Jonathan is really a comic genius and is hysterical in the scene. And, by the way, Mike Vogel is also a comic genius. Because in both of our full-frontal scenes, both seasons, it’s Mike’s reaction that really sells it,” says Rukeyser.
Sex/Life season two is streaming now on Netflix and contains plenty more steamy scenes to get your tongue wagging.
