Patterns is a brand new LGBTQIA+ comedy miniseries that explores the lives of different queer men as they navigate life, love and lust. Rugby star and longtime ally Ben Cohen makes his acting debut playing the personal hero of a young gay teen – something Cohen has plenty of experience with.

Patterns revolves around a seemingly random assortment of gay men all with their own perspectives and narratives but sharing one cinematic universe. The series will stream exclusively on Dekkoo on Thursday, July 27 starring a line-up of talented, attractive actors.

Episode two introduces Ben Cohen alongside newcomer Rufus Gleave. Rufus plays queer teen Liam who has a tendency to daydream and retreat within himself; Ben’s character is the strong, positive influence needed to help Liam overcome his personal turmoil.

Cohen has a long history of supporting LGBTQIA+ causes and jumped at the opportunity to be a part of a project that features nuanced, character-driven plots for queer men.

“When I first read the script for Patterns, I knew I needed to be a part of the series as it spoke to my life-long allyship with the LGBTQIA+ community,” says Ben.

It was in 2011 that he founded the Ben Cohen StandUp Foundation with the purpose of combatting bullying against children who might be lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender.

Patterns is a seven-episode series with a strong ensemble cast of LGBTQIA+ actors. Dekkoo is the first streaming platform dedicated exclusively to gay men making it the perfect home for a series like this.
