In the lead-up to the US presidential election on 5 November, several famous faces have voiced their support for Kamala Harris, the Democratic nominee for Vice President. Harris, who got the nod from President Joe Biden after he decided not to run again, is up against former Republican president Donald Trump.

Harris, once a prosecutor and senator from California, has a strong track record of supporting LGBTQIA+ rights. This stands in stark contrast to Trump’s time in office, which saw many LGBTQIA+ protections rolled back. A recent study shows that many transgender Americans are worried about the election’s outcome.

Who’s on Team Harris?

Lil Nas X

The chart-topping rapper tweeted his support for Harris, saying “lock in lil bro” and tagging her.

Matt Bomer

This Golden Globe winner put his name on a letter backing Harris’s presidential bid.

George Takei

The Star Trek legend has been vocal on social media about his support for Harris. He even joined a live call that raised over $300,000 for her campaign.

Colman Domingo

The actor signed a letter, along with other stars, showing his support for Harris.

Cardi B

In a 20-minute chat on X, the bisexual rapper spoke out against any unfair treatment of Harris based on her gender.

These endorsements show a growing trend of celebrities using their platforms to support political candidates. It’s especially notable how many LGBTQIA+ stars and allies are rallying behind Harris.

As the election draws near, it’s clear that Harris has strong support from various parts of the entertainment world. This backing could play a role in shaping public opinion as voters get ready to head to the polls.
