Queen Elizabeth II : Tributes From LGBTQIA+ Celebrities And World Leaders
In light of the news of the death of Queen Elizabeth II, tributes have begun streaming in from world leaders, heads of state and celebrities. Among those who have sent their condolences are Elton John, Diana Ross, US President Joe Biden, and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.
Her Majesty faced her fair share of fanfare and criticism throughout her life. Her responsibility as the head of state and Sovereign was to remain neutral and level-headed. Many saw this reliability to be the benchmark of her success as a head of state. There were some who took her stiff-upper-lip as a tacit endorsement for events that transpired around her.
It’s a testament to her rule that despite her critics, tributes have flooded in remembering Her Majesty to be a beacon of greatness and a window into some of the world’s richest modern history.
On Twitter, Sir Elton John says, “She was an inspiring presence to be around and led the country through some of our greatest and darkest moments with grace, decency and a genuine caring warm.”
Diana Ross says, “She devoted her life to her country and to the service of others. I am happy I was able to say thank you to her Majesty at this years platinum Jubilee. With love and condolences to all of her family, we all celebrate her life.”
Bette Midler posted on Twitter saying, “We will never see her like again. She was steadfast, staunch, and dedicated until the very end. 70 years of duty. Unbelievable.” Janet Jackson also extended her condolences with a tweet.
Queen frontman Adam Lambert performed for Her Majesty’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations, the last jubilee to be celebrated by Queen Elizabeth II, and paid tribute via Instagram.

The RuPaul’s Drag Race judge Michelle Visage posted an Instagram grid post that says, “May her soul Rest In Peace. HM Queen Elizabeth II 1926-2022.”
Speaking of drag queens, The Vivienne posted a tweet in tribute to Queen Elizabeth II that says, “Rest in peace and thank you for your service.” Another UK queen Baga Chipz says, “Thank you your Majesty. Monarchist or not. You carried out your duties and served your country all your life right till the very end. A constant in the majority of people’s lives. Thank you ma’am. And God save the Queen.”
Looking at the other figures that paid tribute to the late Queen, it’s evident that Her Majesty succeeded in remaining a neutral, yet upstanding, figure in a world where it’s increasingly difficult to do so.
President Joe Biden says, “Her legacy will loom large in the pages of British history, and in the story of our world.” Frances President Emmanuel Macron says, “I remember her as a friend of France, a kind-hearted queen who has left a lasting impression on her country and her century.”
These tributes illuminate just how much Queen Elizabeth II will be missed and how impactful her time on the throne was. We extend our condolences to the Royal Family and our gratitude for Her Majesty’s service.
