Our Hearts Skip A Beat As The New “Heartstopper” Trailer Reveals Release Date
The wildly popular Netflix series Heartstopper released its first episode in April 2022 and has enjoyed high ratings and a strong fandom since. The series based on Alice Oseman’s graphic novel has dropped a new trailer for the second season and a release date for August 03, 2023 has been announced, reports Digital Spy.
Actors reveal “more is going on” in season 2
The young stars of Heartstopper have been catapulted into fame and worldwide recognition since they last graced our screens as the heartfelt romantics. Kit Connor and Joe Locke last left their characters Nick Nelson and Charlie Spring blissfully in love and openly together, which felt more like the opening of a door than a closing of a chapter.
In the teaser for season 2, we get to follow the cast and crew in behind-the-scenes interviews and production shots and learn more about how the rest of the cast feel about the direction their characters are going. Yasmin Finney, who plays trans high schooler Elle Argent, says, “There’s so many things that happen with Elle this season that you’re not ready for. I’d say Elle is different in the sense that she’s more confident. She surrounds herself with people that elevate her.”
Looking ahead at plot
The series has been faithful to Oseman’s original text thus far which has prompted fans to foresee what’s in store for the characters.
The side characters are provided their own stories and lives in Heartstopper which means there’s an abundance of narratives to follow and fall in love with. Fans are keen to see whether Tao (played by William Gao) will end up with Elle, whether Darcy (Kizzy Edgell) and Tara can weather unforeseen challenges in their relationship and how Isaac’s (Tobie Donovan) asexuality will be addressed.
Speaking earlier this year, series creator Alice Oseman confirmed threads such as Isaac’s asexuality will be unwoven throughout this coming season, reports Digital Spy.
The official air date of Heartstopper season 2 is August 3 on netflix.
