Olympic Athlete Jack Woolley Lights Up Dancing With the Stars With Troye Sivan’s “Rush”
Jack Woolley, the openly gay Olympian who’s become the talk of the town in the new season of Dancing With the Stars Ireland, took to the stage, turning the cha-cha into something only he could pull off.
Jack kicked off with a bang, dancing a Viennese Waltz in week one, which had him and his partner, Alexandra Vladimirov, finishing second. He cheekily teased on social media, “Who’s ready to see a different side of Jack this Sunday” with chili pepper and fire emojis.
On Sunday night, Jack and Alexandra took on the cha-cha. Most people think of Latin music when they imagine the cha-cha, but Jack had other ideas. He decided to set the dance floor on fire with Troye Sivan’s iconic track, Rush.
As the famous line “I feel the rush/Addicted to your touch” played, Jack sat on stage in a figure-hugging leotard, ready to show Ireland a side of him they hadn’t seen before. The camera was all in, capturing every move
Sivan’s song turned out to be the perfect choice. Jack and Alexandra matched the driving beat and the song’s swivelling energy with grace. And in a moment that had everyone cheering, they linked arms for the iconic kickline from the Rush video.
The judges thought it was “so good, it’s so good” – a phrase everyone with ears could agree with. Jack and Alexandra held onto their second place ranking.
Woolley shared his excitement on Instagram, captioning the video with “What an HONOUR it was to dance to TROYE SIVAN!!!!” and a rainbow flag emoji.
We can’t wait to see what Jack and Alexandra do next Sunday.
