Lil Nas X has tweeted to his eight million followers that he may be a “little bisexual”. The tweet has quickly gained momentum with over 22.7 million views to date and the online chatter is only just ramping up.

Nas tweeted: “be fr [sic] would y’all be mad at me if I thought I was a little bisexual.” A fitting way for the Industry Baby singer to come out as possibly bisexual. Nas is known for being very open about his personal life and also for “tongue-in-tweet” sense of humour. He’s also fierce with a witty snap-back when trolled on social media.
Naz coming out as bi reaffirms what many in the the LGBTQIA+ community hold as an accepted truth: that sexuality and identity aren’t always set in stone. We congratulate Lil Nas X on the further exploration of sexual identity and are loving the positive responses online to his announcement. One user posted a post-irony tweet which, under normal circumstances, would be considered downright homophobic: “Better eat your girl pussy before your gay friends do it, faggots bi AF these days.”
Lil Nas X promises his fans this is the last time he comes out, but we wouldn’t begrudge the singer if, in another few months, he comes out as something else. Labels are meant to help guide the community towards better understandings of themselves rather than final destinations that restrict growth.
