Former NSYNC band member, Lance Bass, and his husband, Michael Turchin, welcomed twins last week, reports NBC News. The twins, named Violet Betty and Alexander James, were born via surrogate, after years of failed attempts to become fathers via IVF, nine different egg donors and a miscarriage.

Bass shared photos across social media introducing the twins, saying, ” I can not express how much love I feel right now. Thank you for all the kind wishes. It meant a lot.”

Bass’ husband also shared images of the newborns to social media, saying, “They’re pure perfection and yes that includes the dozens of poops we’ve already dealt with. Our hearts our full!!! Thank you everyone for the well wishes.”

In early 2020, Bass shared with Us Weekly that they had put their IVF journey on hold due to the difficulties that had experienced getting pregnant and the COVID-19 pandemic. He said, “You work so hard for this, you get pregnant and weeks later, it doesn’t stick. We have tons of friends that are doing IVF, and it was definitely consoling to know that they all went through the same thing we went through.”
